Area superintendent announces retirement at BOE meeting

BARNARD, Mo. - At the latest South Nodaway Board of Education meeting, Superintendent Johnnie Silkett announced his retirement at the end of the year.

Despite that announcement, business continued as the board added recent CARES Act funding to the budget and announced plans for holding winter sports.

Superintendent Johnnie Silkett told KXCV/KRNW that that involved the continuation of their re-entry plan, which will limit crowds for upcoming games.

Silkett says tickets for games will be distributed to families, players and to the visiting teams.
